Simon Pascal Alain Handy is an international affairs specialist whose career has been shaped by more than two decades of service within the United Nations system. Over 23 years, he held key positions including political analyst, special advisor, associate expert on disarmament at UN Headquarters in New York, chief technical advisor in crisis prevention for the United Nations Development Programme, and chief of party for the Haiti Transition Initiative.

His work has involved peacebuilding, governance, conflict prevention, humanitarian response, and high-level political negotiations across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and the Americas.

Handy is a Senior Executive Fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, a Visiting Fellow at the European Union Institute for Security Studies, and a Visiting Scholar at York University. He currently serves as CEO of HCCP Global Think Tank in Brussels, where he promotes stronger political, cultural, and strategic collaboration between Africa and the wider world.
